A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY,
FLORIDA, DESIGNATING POLLING LOCATIONS,
ELECTION OFFICIALS, AND INSPECTORS OF
ELECTION, AND ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR
THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION SCHEDULED TO BE HELD
MARCH 12, 1996, AND THE MUNICIPAL RUN -OFF
ELECTION, IF NECESSARY, TO BE HELD ON MARCH
26, 1996.
WHEREAS, the Village Council adopted the uniform filing
and election dates as adopted previously by the Legislature of
the State of Florida (House Bill 742), designating the second
Tuesday in March as the uniform election date for any election
relating to a municipal office; and designating a filing period
for candidates for any municipal office in Palm Beach County
from noon on the last Tuesday in January through and not later u
than noon on the second Tuesday in February of the calendar
year; and
WHEREAS, Section 2.01 of the Village Charter provides that
Councilmembers shall be elected at large to Seats 1, 3, and 5
• in the even years; and
WHEREAS, Section 8 of the Village Code of Ordinances
provides that Council may designate by Resolution polling
locations, election officials, and inspectors of election,
election procedures, and other incidentals required to conduct
the Village Municipal Election; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta,
desires to designate polling locations, election officials, and
Inspectors of Election and establish election procedures in the
event that it becomes necessary to conduct a Municipal Election
on March 12, 1996, and Municipal Run -Off Election on March 26,
1996.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Notice is hereby given that a Municipal
Election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, March 12, 1996.
The polling locations* for Village of Tequesta voters will be:
Precinct 002 - Village Hall - Council Chambers
357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida
• Precinct 14 - First Presbyterian Church of Tequesta
Fellowship Hall
482 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida

Notice is also hereby given that, if necessary, a Municipal
• Run -Off Election will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 1996, at
the above referenced polling locations. *
* The polls will be open from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Section 2. In accordance with the provisions of
Section 8 -2(b) Village of Tequesta Code of Ordinances, the
Village Clerk shall be the Clerk of Elections and shall
supervise the conduct of the Municipal Election, in accordance
with the State of Florida Election Laws and Village Ordinances.
Section 3. Since the Municipal Election will be held in
conjunction with the Presidential Preference Primary, it is the
Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections' responsibility to
obtain polling locations and appoint inspectors of election, as
well as, make all of the election arrangements for the March
12, 1996, Municipal Election. If it is necessary to hold a
Municipal Run -Off Election on March 26, 1996, it is the Village
Clerk's responsibility to obtain polling locations, appoint
inspectors of election, and make arrangements for the Run -Off
Election.
Section 4. If a Municipal Run -Off Election is
necessary, the designated Inspectors of Election for Precincts
002 and 14 will be chosen and appointed by the Village Clerk
• from the following list of qualified poll workers:

and that, in the event that any of the above named individuals
are not able to serve as an Inspector of Election, the Village
Clerk shall designate an Inspector(s) from the Palm Beach
County Supervisor of Elections list of qualified poll workers
residing in Tequesta.
Section 5. The Village Manager shall authorize payment
of the Inspectors of Election per the rates in effect for poll
workers of the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections'
Office in the event that said Municipal Run -Off Election is
necessary.
Section 6. Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections
Jackie Winchester and Village of Tequesta Village Clerk Joann
• Manganiello are appointed members of the Village of Tequesta
Canvassing Board for the purpose of conducting the Municipal
Election/Run -Off Election.

. Section 7. The provisions of the Florida Elections
Code relating to absentee ballots shall apply to the Village
Municipal Election /Run -Off Election, and absentee balloting
shall be administered by the Palm Beach County Supervisor of
Elections Office.
Section 8. The Palm Beach County Supervisor of
Elections Office is designated to tabulate the ballots cast at
the Village Municipal Election and Municipal Run -Off Election,
if necessary.
Section 9. The Village Clerk, or her appointed
designee, shall provide a copy of this Resolution to the Palm
Beach County Supervisor of Elections.
Section 10. This Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its passage.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED by Councilmember
Schauer , who moved its adoption. The motion was
seconded by Councilmember Hansen , and
upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:

The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed and
