HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_21-94/95_05/11/1995 RESOLUTION NO. 21 -9495 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, CREATING THE TEQUESTA COUNTRY CLUB DRIVE TASK FORCE. WHEREAS, the Village Council has determined that it is necessary to address the concerns of its citizens relative to traffic matters associated with Country Club Drive; and WHEREAS, a body of knowledgeable and interested citizens is needed to review the traffic situation, alternatives and make recommendations to the Village Council relative to regional traffic concerns associated with Country Club Drive; and WHEREAS, the Village Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the Village to create the Tequesta Country Club Drive Task Force for such purposes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA: Section 1. There is hereby created within the Village of Tequesta a Tequesta Country Club Drive Task Force to consist • of citizens appointed by the Village Council. This Task Force shall expire on October 13, 1995. Section 2. The powers and duties of the Task Force shall be advisory to the Village Council and no right or claim in favor of any person or party to any proceedings shall accrue by reason of any action by the Task Force. Section 3. The Task Force shall review and make recommendations to the Village Council regarding ways and means for addressing traffic concerns on Country Club Drive and throughout Tequesta which shall include, but not be limited to, the following activities: A) Evaluate existing and future infrastructure requirements B) Review of roadway options including County Line Road, Connector Road, Loxahatchee River Road, North - South corridors, East -West corridors C) Options to slow down and reduce traffic D) Feasibility of closing Country Club Drive using provisions of the Florida Safe Neighborhood Crime Act E) Review of Tequesta Truck Ordinance F) Statistical analysis of traffic data G) Review of Property Value trends • Section 4. The Task Force shall elect a Chair and a Vice -Chair from among its members. The Task Force shall meet • at regular intervals to be determined by it and at such other times as the Chair or Task Force may determine. The Task Force shall keep a properly indexed record of its actions and resolutions. Section 5. The Task Force shall work with citizens, elected officials or any similar task force established by Martin County, Palm Beach County or the Town of Jupiter for similar purposes in order to jointly resolve traffic problems and to foster intergovernmental coordination, as may be needed. Section 6. The Task Force shall prepare at least one (1) report to the Village Council and the Board of County Commissioners for Martin County for the purpose of making the necessary recommendations referenced herein. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED by Councilmember Burckart , who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Schauer , and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: FOR ADOPTION AGAINST ADOPTION William E. Burckart I • Joseph N. Capretta Carl Hansen Ron T.
