HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_10-92/93_06/10/1993 • RESOLUTION NO. 10 -9293 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE REQUEST OF THE FIRE CHIEF'S ASSOCIATION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY FOR FUNDS FROM THE PALM BEACH COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES AWARDS PROGRAM TO BE USED FOR A MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER TO BE OPERATED BY PALM BEACH COUNTY FIRE - RESCUE. WHEREAS, a Twenty -Five ($25.00) Dollar surcharge is attached to the fine for every D.U.I. conviction; and WHEREAS, a Five ($5.00) Dollar surcharge is attached to the fine for every violation that is fought in Court and convicted; and WHEREAS, these monies are turned over to the State of Florida • which returns forty -five percent (45 %) back to the municipalities for the purpose of improving and expanding emergency medical services, and WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta is eligible to receive one thousand sixty -one dollars ($1061.00) of these funds; and WHEREAS, the Fire Chief's Association has requested a commitment from Tequesta for a portion of the funds available to the Village of Tequesta for a mobile communications center to be operated by Palm Beach County Fire - Rescue. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Village Council of the Village of Tequesta approves the request of the Fire Chief's Association of Palm Beach County for four hundred ten dollars ($410.00) from the Palm Beach County E.M.S. Awards Program. Section 2. Said funds shall be used solely for the proposed Mobile Communications Center to be operated by Palm Beach County Fire - Rescue. Section 3. The Village Manager is authorized to execute a Letter of Commitment for the Village for four hundred ten dollars ($410) for the mobile radio system. Section 4. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to send a copy of this Resolution to the Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Medical Services and the President of the Fire Chief's Association of Palm Beach County. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED by Councilmember Schauer who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Capretta , and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: FOR ADOPTION AGAINST ADOPTION Ron T. Mackail Joseph N. Capretta Elizabeth A.
