HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_27-90/91_07/18/1991 RESOLUTION NO. 27 -90/91 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE • 3 LOXAHATCHEE COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS' I APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FROM THE FLORIDA INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICT (FIND) FOR ASSISTANCE UNDER THE FLORIDA INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICT WATERWAYS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the Loxahatchee Council of Governments is i interested in carrying out an Environmental Boating Education Program in a joint effort with the Palm Beach County School Board and the Marinelife Center of Juno Beach which is directed at educating school age children as to the ecology and environment within which they live; and WHEREAS, the Loxahatchee Council of Governments is seeking financial assistance for this program from the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) as evidenced by the COG Resolution adopted on or about May 20, 1991 requesting FIND provide financial assistance for preparing the "Environmental Boating `Education Program "; and WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta is a member in good . standing of the Loxahatchee Council of Governments and supportive of their endeavors to educate citizens about the unique environmental issues of our area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Palm Beach County, Florida, that: Section 1. The Village of Tequesta endorses the Loxahatchee Council of Governments' development of an ;Environmental Boating Education Program and the Council's application to FIND for funds necessary to develop the educational program. Section 2. The Village Clerk is hereby directed to provide a copy of this Resolution to the FIND, Loxahatchee Council of Governments and the Marinelife Center of Juno Beach. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember Edward C. Howell r who moved its adoption. The Resolution was seconded by Councilmember William E. Burckart and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: FOR ADOPTION AGAINST ADOPTION Earl L. Collings William E. Burckart Edward C.
