A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY,
FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
MULTI- PURPOSE OUTDOOR FACILITY, "PLAYHOUSE
IN THE PARK," AT CARLIN PARK, JUPITER.

WHEREAS the I
provision of a multi - purpose outdoor
facility, "Playhouse in the Park," would be a major
enhancement of our growing North County cultural community
life; and
WHEREAS, this facility could house acclaimed Shakespeare
Festival plays, acclaimed music and art festivals, serve as a
special events site to meet the needs of civic and community
organizations, and will enable accessible, on -going
activities and entertainments throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, the structure and site design is planned to
protect and enhance the ocean park environment and meet the
needs of civic and community organizations; and
• WHEREAS, the current proposal for the facility envisions
the design and construction to be funded by Palm Beach
County; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Karen T. Marcus, through the
Executive Producing Director of the Palm Beach Shakespeare
Festival, has respectfully requested the support of the
Village of Tequesta for the "Playhouse in the Park" project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Village Council is supportive of the
efforts of Palm Beach County to provide for a multi - purpose
outdoor facility, "Playhouse in the Park" which will be a
major enhancement to the cultural and community life of
Tequesta and the North County area.
Section 2. The proposed site of Carlin Park, Jupiter
appears to be the only park in the North County area capable
of housing special events of any real size and therefore
appears to be an appropriate choice for provision of the
'proposed multi - purpose outdoor facility.
Section 3. The Village Clerk is directed to distribute
copies of this Resolution to the Board of County
Commissioners, the Town of Jupiter and the Jupiter- Tequesta-
Juno Beach Chamber of Commerce.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember
Earl L. Colling who moved its adoption. The Resolution
was seconded by Councilmember ,illiam L. Burckar and upon
being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:

The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed
and adopted this 10th day of May A.D. 1991.
