HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_05-85/86_03/25/1986 RESOLUTION NO. 5 -85/86 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING AND ENDORSING A PROPOSED ACT OF THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE TO AMEND SECTION 125.01, FLORIDA STATUTES, PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, has actively participated with the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, Florida, to provide Fire /Rescue Service within Municipal Boundaries; and WHEREAS, it is determined that amendment language has been developed in concert with the County and the affected municipalities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida: Section 1. That the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, hereby expresses its support and endorsement of the Amendment of Section 125.01, Florida Statutes, as proposed by the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County and the affected municipalities, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit "A" hereto, and by reference made a part hereof. Section 2. That a Certified copy of this Resolution be sent to the Executive Director, Palm Beach County Municipal League. Section 3. That this Resolution will take effect immediately upon its passage. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember EDi, C. HOWELL , who moved its adoption. It is hereby declared to be the intent of the Legislature that this paragraph is the authorization for all counties to levy additional taxes, within the limits fixed for municipal purposes, within such municipal service taxing units under the authority of the second sentence of s. 9(b), Art.
