WHITE, PUBLIC SERVICES MANAGER SUBJECT: ENTRANCE APPROACH / BLM ECOSITE 61 DATE: JANUARY 7, 2011 This agenda item for the approval of a proposal to expand and re-pave the existing entra.nce to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) property on Sta.te Rd. 707. T'he existing entrance road is in terrible condition and is in need of repair. It is also very narrow which could cause problems for buses when visiting the site. The proposal includes removing the existing asphalt, widening the approach, and adding curbing. Attached are two (2) proposals for the work. One each from Sheltra & Sons, and Wynn & Sons. I requested a proposal from Asphalt Consultants but they did not respond. Per our conversation I will remove the curbing portion resulting in a low bid of $5,000.00 from Wynn & Sons. I recommend accepting their proposa.l. This will enhance the overall appearance of the entrance and make it a safer road condition. Please place on the January 13, 2011 agenda. RESOLUTION NO 1-11 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO WYNN � SONS ENVIRONMENTAL CONSTRUCTION OF WEST PALM BEACH FLORIDA IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000.00, FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE BLM ENTRANCE; APPROPRIATING FUND BALANCE AND INCREASING THE GENERAL FUND #001 2010- 2011 BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000.00 TO FUND THIS PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGE. WHEREAS, The entrance to this property is in need of repair. WHEREAS, The Village received bids for the repair, with a low bid of $5,000.00 from Wynn & Sons (Exhibit A attached) WHEREAS, This project was not budgeted and it will be necessary to appropriate Fund Balance in General Fund #001 to fund the repair of the entrance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 Approve the proposal from Wynn & Sons Environmental Construction (attached exhibit "A") Section 2 Village Council hereby adopts Resolution #1-11 appropriating Fund Balance and increasing the General Fund #001 2011 Budget by $5,000.00 to fund the Repair needed to the entrance way.
