HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_05-83/84_01/24/1984 RESOLUTION N0. 5/83 -84 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA ESTABLISHING MARCH 13, 1984 AS THE DATE OF THE 1984 GENERAL ELECTION. WHEREAS, Section 2.01 of the Village Charter provides that the election of Councilmembers shall be held on the second Tuesday of March each year; and WHEREAS, Section 2.01 of the Village Charter provides that Councilmembers in Seats 1, 3 and 5 shall be elected in even years; and WHEREAS, Section 8.1 of the Village Code provides that the Council may designate by resolution of least thirty (30) days prior to the date of any election the date upon which such election is to be held and other information pertinent to the election. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA: Sec 1. That the 1984 Village election shall be held Tuesday, March 13, 1984. Section 2. That the 1984 Village election shall be held for the purpose of electing Councilmembers to Seats 1, 3 and 5 for two (2) year terms. Section 3. That the polling places for the 1984 Village election shall be the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida for Precinct #2 and JTJC Building, 318 N. Seabrook Road, Tequesta for Precinct #14 and the polls shall be open from 7 :00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Section 4. Inspectors of Election for the 1984 Village election shall be appointed by Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections. Section 5. That the following person shall be the Village of Tequesta Canvassing Board for the Village 1984 election: Cyrese Colbert THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember Thomas J. Beddow , who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Thomas J. Little and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: FOR ADOPTION AGAINST ADOPTION Thomas J. Beddow Lee M.
