HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_02-79/80_11/13/1979 . i • RESOLUTION NO. 2 -79/80 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA CONCURRING WITH THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE LOXAHATCHEE RIVER ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL DISTRICT TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE UNDER PUBLIC LAW 92 -500 GRANTS PROGRAM TO IMPLEMENT A 201 FACILITIES PLANNING STUDY. WHEREAS, the Governing Board of the Loxahatchee River Environmental control district proposes to implement a 201 Facilities Planning Study for investigation of point source water pollution abate- ment within the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District; and WHEREAS, Public Law 92 -500, amendments to the Clean Water Act, require that a 201 Facilities Planning Study be completed prior to receipt of facilities construction grant funds as authorized and appropriated by the U.S. Congress; and WHEREAS, the 201 Facilities Planning Study will among other items, define the most cost - effective facilities plan to meet point source water pollution control requirements; and WHEREAS, the 201 Facilities Plan will address the work elements included in the Plan of Study, attached hereto and made a part of this resolution; and WHEREAS, cost of the 201 Facilities Planning Study will be funded 75% by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 20% by the Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County, and 5% by the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District in accordance with an application for federal assistance (EPA Form 5700) to be submitted by the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA: Section 1 . That the Village of Tequesta, Florida does herewith concur with the 201 Facilities Planning Study as proposed by the Governing Board of the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District as set forth in the Plan of Study. Section 2 . That the Village of Tequesta, Florida, does herewith concur with the application for federal assistance (EPA Form 5700) to be submitted by the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember James H. Ryan who moved its adoption. The Resolution was seconded by Councilmember Leslie A. Cook and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: FOR ADOPTION AGAINST ADOPTION Howard F. Brown Leslie A. Cook W.
