HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_04-78/79_12/12/1978 RESOLUTION NO. 4 -78/79 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, RESTRICTING THE ISSUANCE OF BUILDING PERMITS FOR A PERIOD NOT EXCEEDING THIRTY DAYS IN THE C -1 AND C -2 ZONING CLASSIFICATIONS OF THE VILLAGE FOR BUILDINGS IN EXCESS OF 2000 SQUARE FEET OF BUILDING FLOOR AREA AND ALSO FOR PROPOSED BUILDINGS IN EXCESS OF TWO STORIES IN THE R -3 ZONING CLASSIFICATION. WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta has placed on first reading an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Tequesta affecting proposed building and structures in the C -1 and C -2 Zoning Classifications and for buildings in excess of two stories in the R -3 Zoning Classification; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the welfare of the residents of the Village of Tequesta that no building permits be issued in those Zoning Classifications while said Ordinance is pending and prior to final adoption thereof; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of those persons making application for building permits in said zone categories that they are on notice of said pending amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and that they not proceed with development on the basis of a building permit issued by the Building Department of the Village of Tequesta, Florida. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 . That the Building Official is hereby directed not to issue any building permits for proposed buildings in the C -1 and C -2 Zoning Classifications of the Village for buildings in excess of 2000 square feet of building floor area or in the R -3 Zoning Classification for structures exceeding two stories in height. This Resolution shall remain in effect for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days or earlier if revoked by the Village Council. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember Joseph D. Yode Jr. , who moved its adoption. The Resolution was seconded by Councilmember W. Harvey Mapes and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: FOR ADOPTION AGAINST ADOPTION Howard F. Brown James H. Ryan Leslie A. Cook W. Harvey Mapes, Jr. Joseph D. Yoder, Jr. The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed and adopted this 12 day of December , A.D. , 1978.
