HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_03-77/78_01/31/1978 RESOLUTION N0. 3 -77 /7$ A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA ESTABLISHING MARCH 14, 1978 AS THE DATE OF THE 1978 GENERAL ELECTION WHEREAS, Section 2.01 of the Village Charter provides that the election of Councilmen shall be held on the second Tuesday of March each year; and WHEREAS, Section 2.01 of the Village Charter provides that Councilmen in Seats 1, 3 and 5 shall be elected in the even years; and WHEREAS, Section 8.1 of the Village Code provides that the, Council may designate by resolution at least thirty (30) days prior to the date of any election the date upon which such election is to be held and other information pertinent to the election. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA: Section 1 . That the 1978 Village election shall be held on Tuesday, March 14, 1978. Section 2 . That the 1978 Village election shall be held for the purpose of electing Councilmen to Seats 1, 3 and 5 for two (2) year terms and for a straw vote to assist the Village Council in determining whether or not to proceed with the proposed acquisition of Tri- Southern Utilities Company, Inc. Section 3 . That the polling place for the 1978 Village election shall be the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida and the polls shall be open from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Section 4 . That the following persons shall be the Inspectors of Election for the 1978 Village election: Mary W. Elliott Charlotte P. Kadlec Mildred E. Graef Ethel M. Reaney Jeannette Gould Ruth Schlusemeyer Pat Kloiber Betty Pease Dorothy M. Campbell Robert B. Sattley Robert Harp 1 i • Section 5 . That the following persons shall be the Village of Tequesta Canvassing Board for the Village 1978 election: Cyrese Colbert Robert Harp W. H. Mapes, Jr. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember Stephen R. Huggins `, who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilmember Joseph D Yoder, Jr and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: FOR ADOPTION AGAINST ADOPTION Howard F. Brown Stephen R. Huggins James Ryan Joseph D. Yoder, Jr, The Mayor thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed and adopted this 31 day of January , A.D. , 1978.
