A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA
DIRECTED TO THE PALM BEACH COUNTY LEGIS-
LATIVE DELEGATION REQUESTING CONTINUA-
TION OF THE ANNUAL PRE- LEGISLATIVE MEET-
INGS WITH THE PALM BEACH COUNTY MUNICIPAL
LEAGUE TO DISCUSS ANTICIPATED GENERAL LEG-
ISLATION PROPOSALS AFFECTING CITIES AND
ASKING FOR A NEW PROGRAM OF ANNUAL POST -
SESSION REVIEW OF THE VOTING RECORDS OF
THE DELEGATION MEMBERS
WHEREAS, The enactments of the Florida Legislature
have a direct effect upon mattcrs of concern to municipalities
which require the members of the Legislature to have clear under-
standing of municipal problems and the effects of proposed
solutions thereto; and
WHEREAS, an annual program between the Legislative
Delegation and the Palm Beach County Municipal League which
permits discussion of municipal problems and proposed legislation
affecting cities prior to the start of the legislative session
together with a review of legislation adopted after the end of
the session would accomplish such purposes and preserve the
strength of municipal home rule government from unintentional
erosion;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL
OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA:
Section 1 . That the Village of Tequesta hereby
requests the continuation of the annual pre - legislative meeting
with the Palm Beach County Municipal League for the purpose of
• discussing all anticipated general legislative proposals which
would be of concern or effect for the cities.
Section 2 . That the Village of Tequesta further
requests the institution of a new program of annual meetings
between the Legislative Delegation and the Palm Beach County
Municipal League to be held at the end of the legislative session
• for the purpose of discussing those laws affecting cities which
• were adopted by the Legislature and reviewing the voting records
of the individual members of the Delegation throughout the session.
Section 3 . That the Village Clerk is hereby directed
to furnish a copy of this Resolution to the members of the Palm
Beach County Legislative Delegation and to each of the member
cities of the Palm Beach County Municipal League.
