HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_06-73/74_10/22/1974 RESOLUTION NO. 6 -73/74 • A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, LEVYING A 1974 MILLAGE RATE IN EXCESS OF THE PALM BEACH COUNTY TAX ASSESSOR'S CERTIFIED MILLAGE WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Statute 200.065, no millage in excess of the Palm Beach County Tax Assessor's certified millage shall be levied until a resolution has been approved by the governing board of the taxing authority; and WHEREAS, the Palm Beach County Tax Assessor's 1974 certified millage for the Village of Tequesta is $2.829 dollars per $1,000.00 of taxable value: and WHEREAS, at a Special Council Meeting held August 6, 1974, • the Council of the Village of Tequesta has adopted a budget for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 1974 which requires a millage rate of $3.660 dollars per $1,000.00 of taxable value; and WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta Council has advertised its intent to exceed the Palm Beach County Tax Assessor's certified millage for 1974; and WHEREAS, the Council of the Village of Tequesta has advertised and will hold a meeting at 7:15•P.M., Tuesday,.:.August 13, 1974 in the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida, for the purpose of hearing comments regarding the proposed increase and to explain the reasons for the proposed increase; and WHEREAS, copies of the adopted resolution must be forwarded to the Palm Beach County Tax Assessor, Palm Beach County Tax Collector and State of Florida Department of Revenue; and WHEREAS, the requirements for advertising the meeting and advertising the second reading of resolutions, and to enable the Village Council of the Village of TeTiesta to forward the millage rate to the various authorities within a reasonable period of time, makes it necessary for the Village of Tequesta Council to expedite these matters in the interest of all parties concerned;
