WHEREAS, the continued development of the Tequesta- Jupiter Area,
Northern Palm Beach County and Southern Martin County has caused the State
of Florida, Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, Division of
Health, in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the residents
of said area, to curtail further development utilizing individual septic
tank disposal systems in said area; and
WHEREAS, said Department of Health proposes that said area have
a unified waste water collection and treatment system; and
*01E,AS, the Village Councilmen of the Village of Tequesta,
Florida believe that the interests of the residents and taxpayers of the
• subject area can best be served by the formation of a Council of Local
Public Officials to further study the provision of sewerage facilities and
other necessary services and functions for the area; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 69 -69, (House Bill No. 188), Florida Statutes,
authorizes the creation of voluntary Councils of Local Public Officials,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE
COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, as follows:
Section 1. That the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta,
Florida, enter into an agreement with the governing bodies of the Town of
Jupiter and Jupiter Inlet Colony, the Board of County Commissioners of Palm
Beach County and the Board of County Commissioners of Martin County, Florida,
for the establishment of a Council of Local Public Officials pursuant to
the provisions of Chapter 69 -69, Florida Statutes; and,
. Section 2. That certified copies of this Resolution be sent to:
Town. of Jupiter
Jupiter Inlet Colony
Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County
Board of County Commissioners of Martin County
S. A. Berkowitz, Chief Bureau of Sanitary Engineering, State
of Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services
Dr. C. L. Brumback, Director, Palm Beach County Health Department
