The plan would call for a team attack and solu- tion of the problem through the Florida Department of Conservation and the U. S. Corps of Engineers, to be financed by the Florida Inland Navi- gation District. The point of attack will be rebuilding of the various inlets by proper protection of the navigation channels and by sand trans- fer. Experience in erosion control has proved that in any stretch • of beach no one individual can successfully combat erosion, and that it must be a unanimous conununity effort. So in considering Florida's Eastern Coast Line, no one city or county alone can control erosion, but the entire coast line must be protected. Considering the life or death relationship of the ocean beaches to Florida's economic and human welfare, the Councilmen of the Village of Tequesta, Palm Beach County, Florida, not only approve a comprehensive plan, but urge its passage by the Legislature to permit the raising of the funds immediately necessary for this vital work. We feel that the taxation proposed will return many times its cost in salvaging and pro- tecting the enormous assets of our Atlantic Coast beaches. • PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of February,.19 8. _ Mayor Villag;, of Tequesta, Florida ATTEST: Village •
