HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_00-66_04/18/1967 • RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE OF TE QUES TA WHEREAS, on April 6, 1967 WILLIAM FLETCHER and DAVID VAN CURLER were tragically and brutally slain on the streets of the City of West Palm Beach, Florida, while performing their duties as officers of the Police Department of said city; and WHEREAS, the said WILLIAM FLETCHER left surviving him a wife and three children, and the said DAVID VAN CURLER left surviving him a wife and five children; and WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, • Florida, desires to express its commendation of the bravery of said officers and its sympathy to their wives and children; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, in regular meeting assembled, that the Council does hereby express its commendation of the loyalty, heroism and courage of these departed officers, WILLIAM FLETCHER and DAVID VAN CURLER; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village Council does hereby extend to the wives and children of said officers its most sincere and heartfelt sympathy in their hour of tragedy and grief; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Village Clerk be, and he is hereby, directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Mayor of the City of West Palm Beach, Florida, the Chief of Police of said city, and to the families of said departed officers.
