HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution_04-66_09/16/1966 • RESOLUTION NO. 4-66 WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida has, by Ordinance No. 122, duly adopted, on September 16, 1566, a "Special Election" under the provisions of its Charter, for determining whether or not the lands in the subdivision of Bermuda Terrace, should be annexed to the Village; and WHEREAS, in said Ordinance the Village Council set the date of said election, the polling time and places and the persons entitled to vote; and WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 115 the Village Council may designate by resolution other requirements in connection with elections; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the Village Clerk shall be the Clerk of the Election, and the Inspectors for same shall be as follows: a. Within the Village: Mary W. Elliott Dorothy L. Harrington Charles T. Paugh Robert W. Reaney Ruth A. Schlusemeyer John W. Stead b. Without the Village: Linda S. Snow (Chief) Harry Beckmann Martha Beckmann 2. That the Village Clerk shall furnish the inspectors of election of each area with a full and complete list of all of the qualified electors of said area at the opening of the polls on election day and it shall be their duty to keep a poll list of all persons voting. No person shall be allowed to vote unless his name appears upon the list or unless he exhibits a registra- tion certificate showing that he is entitled to vote in this election. • 3. At least one inspector shall be at each polling place at all times during the prescribed hours of the election. 4. With reference to the tabulation of the votes and the announcement of the results, the same shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance 115 of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, under the supervision of the Clerk of Elections and the Chief Inspector appointed for the area proposed to be annexed. The Clerk shall make the announcement of the results and shall report same to the Village Council in accord- ance with the ordinances of the Village. 5. In the event more inspectors are found to be needed, • the Clerk is hereby authorized to appoint same; provided, however, inspectors for the polling places within the Village shall be residents of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, and registered voters, and that inspectors in the area proposed to b annexed shall be residents thereof and r gistered v ters. r Z, 'llage Mayor ATTEST: Village Clerk DATE: - 2 -
