Subject: Water Conservation Proclamations for Local Governments, Utilities and other Organizations Dear Mayor Humpage: Governor Jeb Bush has proclaimed April as Water Conservation Month. By doing so, the Governor has made it clear that water conservation is an important component of a dependable water supply. The South Florida Water Management District and its Governing Board supports this initiative and < is asking local governments, utilities and other organizations to adopt their own version of the attached proclamation before April 17 We also encourage social, cultural and environmental organizations to adopt the proclamation as well. Our District's goal is to' have the largest number of water conservation proclamations in the State and they will be presented to the Governor at a special ceremony during the April Cabinet meeting. Water Conservation is a critical message.of the District. We annually solicit for water savings incentive projects (WaterSlP) and alternative water suppfy projects. lf you decide to adopt the proclamation, please let us know by contacting Jane K.
