Since the original quote several changes have occurred in the product lines which I have highlighted below: 1. 1 have revised fhe quote accordingly to reflect price reductions introduced by EFJohnson on the 5100 and 5300 series radios since the original quote. They have also introduced conditioning battery chargers. I have exchanged the originai 4-unit bank chargers for the conditioning charger. Individual unit conditioning chargers are also available should you want some or all of them to have this feature. Limited (ANI ID and Emergency ID) MDC1200 signaling is also now available and I have added them to the quote. 2. I have prepared new quotations for the new 51 SL and 53SL radios. These models are very similar to the 5100 and 5300 models. They look the same and take the same accessories. These units however do not have AES encryption and it cannot be added at a later date. AES is the current encryption being used by some federal government agencies and to our knowlede it is not employed when inter-operabilitly with these agencies is desired do to the complexity invoived with setting up the encryption keys needed to emp{oy the protocat. The other DES, P25 OTAR, etc encryption(s) are able to be added to the units at a later date. There re no encryption options included for any of the models listed in your quote. We recommend the SL version for your needs. You can also mix the SL and non-SL models if you see a need to do so. 3. We are recommending that you substitute two after market accessories. a) I have quoted the Stone Mountain speaker microphone with antenna. It is very rugged, cost effective and appears less problematic then the current EFJohnson offering. b) I have quoted the Power Products NiMH battery as the spare battery. it has a higher amperage, longer warranty and is more cost effective then the current EFJohnson offering. I have not been able to confirm that the,EFJohnson battery can be deleted from the radio package so that we can supply the Power Products battery in its place. The quote currently has an EFJohnson battery being supplied in the radio package and a Power Products battery as the spare. . EFJohnson now offers a 3 Year Extended Warranty. I have updated the quote to refle°ct this new offering. The manufacturer standard warranty is 1year on radio and accessories. The extended warranty only applies to the radio. Warranty service is also done at the factory depot. Car-Comm has however recently become a 1st Echelon Service Facility for EFJohnson. We can now offer an enhanced companion maintenance agreement that supports servicing this equipment. 1 have included warranty /maintenance comparisons on the quote for your reference. The Maintenance agreement on these products covers; local evaluation, repair of minor problems, shipping costs of a unit in need of depot service, and repair to the antenna; vehicle wiring, and on-site services normally covered under our maintenance agreements. These companion warranty/maintenance products, protect the department from unexpected costs to repairing a high priced component while affording a quick turn-around of minor repairs available through this local service center, thereby keeping down time to a minimum. We do recommend, that where possible, a client add to their inventory at least one (1) spare of each model so that essential services are not interrupted when a unit is serviced. 5. I have adjusted the Leased Line Emulator System quote to reflect the new reality of having antenna work done. Torver Service companies are in very high demand now do to damages done by the many storms thaf have occurred in the last two years. Other significanfi factor that have directly impacted this field are the enormous cost increases of workmen's compensation, general liability and product liability insurance for the industry. I have prepared a separate quote for the single mobi(e needed for the new vehicle. The 5300 model is in stock and available for 48 hour shipping. The 53SL's lead time is currently four (4) weeks. We have a demo 53SL that we will be glad to loan the department until their own unit can be received. I am also sending in a separate email the product literature for the warranty, SL models, and Stone Mountain Microphone. The quote summary includes credit for Phase I work already performed. I have also left the quote in an Excel format so that you may make desired quantity changes and see the resu{tant price adjustment. I thank you for your patients while I prepared this review. Please call with any questions or concerns you may have.
