TEQUESTA COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD
The meeting of the Community Appearance Board for the Village of
Tequesta was held on February 28, 1974 at 10:00 A. M. Present
were Chairman Frank J. Griffith, Mrs. Philip Corr and Messrs.
John B. Teare, Roger W. Fulling and J. B. Stancliffe and A. W.
Butterfield, Building Official and Charles R. Jonas, Village Clerk.
Mr. William Taylor presented plans for addition to his Mortuary and
asked the Beautification Board for approval of the addition plans.
A motion was made by Mr. Fulling and seconded by Mr. Stancliffe and
unanimously approved by the Board with the beautification as stipulated
by him.
Mrs. Corr asked that the Community Design Plans as are now in effect
in Boca Raton be applied by the Beautification Board of the Village
of Tequesta.
201.0 SCOPE
The overall Community Design Plan is a single, unified three
dimensional impression of the community in its existing state and
development potential. It consists of a general description of the
city's attributes, followed by the treatment of specific areas,
buildings and exterior space. It is intended that everything stated
the general descriptions as well as the specific recommendations — shall
be considered a part of the design plan and as such shall constitute
the basis of review by this Board. Scope needs enlarging in Tequesta
plan.
The Chairman, Mr. Griffith, recommended that a letter be sent to all
Committee members with the answers to the several questions asked of
Mr. Harp.
The property on AlA to waterway across from 400 Beach Road where the
construction office trailer sets for Mr. Buzz Di Vosta, is in violation
of the Ordinance due to the fact that it is not on the same property
as the construction site now being used and they would like to know
the owners mine and what they can do about moving it.
The Committee, with the unanimous approval of all its members, would
like to have the authority from the Council to see the property owners
along Tequesta Drive to retain the beautification of the Royal Palms
and to have them moved back on private property.
It was also recommended that signs should be erected to mark the entrance
of Tequesta Drive and Mr. Stancliffe recommended a sign on U. S. Highway
No. 1 stating all services that the Village of Tequesta has to offer and
directional signs to each. They asked about the violation of the sign
for the Goodyear Store and what was being done about it.
Respectfully submitted,
Charles R. has
