During the month of May, 1964 the Police Department investi-
gated thirty four complaints and assisted residents in twelve vari-
ous situations.
In checking business establishments seven doors were found
unsecure.
Three minor motor vehicle accidents were investigated, no
personal injuries.
Police vehicles traveled a total of 5,864 miles using 596.7
gallons of gasoline and 11 qts. of oil.
On May 15, 1964 the Police Department work day per man was
reduced from 12 hours to 8 hours per day. This was accomplished
by the addition of one man to the complement, Charles LeVee was
hired as a patrolman at a salary of $350. per month. This brings
the total roster of the Police Department to Chief and three Patrol-
men.
A complete log of all vacant or unoccupied homes is being kept
by the Police Department. These listed homes are checked at least
once a week by Police Personnel. This is done at the request of
the home owners.
Twenty warnings for all night parking on traveled portions of
Village streets were issued. This has been well received by the
public, no arrests for further violation by warned persons have
been noted.
Country Club Drive in front of Tequesta Country Club, adjacent
to the Parking Lot has been posted, "No Parking Anytime ". This is
in accordance with the policy of lessening traffic hazards in the
Village Limits.
To further bring the services of the Police Department to the
residents of the Village a plastic clip and card giving Police,
Fire telephone numbers are being distributed to all residents.
These clips.1have been donated by the Jupiter - Tequesta Hardware Co.
