HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Special Meeting_02/27/1962 SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCILMEIT OF THE VILLAGE OF TECUESTA, FLORIDA A special meeting of the Councilmen of the Village of Teauesta was held Tuesday, February 27, 1962, 9:00 A.M. at the Teauesta Country Club. Councilmen present were: Messrs Cornelius, Kurtz, Lathrop, Turnbull, and Valier. Also present were Robert Harp,. Village Manager, B. W, Renninger, L. B. Schlusemeyer and Miss Tina Roscello. Mayor Cornelius opened the meeting and stated that it had been called for the purpose of considering the proposal of Jupiter - Teauesta Junior Citizens, Inc. for the Village to lease office space and sufficient space for housing a fire truck to be furnished by the Jupiter Volunteer .Fire Department, and also for annexation of property owned by Jupiter - Teauesta Junior Citizens, Inc. into the Village of Tequesta. (Copy of proposal attached to these minutes) Mr. Kurtz moved, seconded by Mr. Turnbull, that the following described piece of property owned by the Jupiter - Teauesta Junior Citizens Inc. be annexed to the territorial limits of the Village.of Tequesta: Description: All that part of the N 264 of the S 279 of the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 25, Township 40 South, Range 42 East, lying West of County Road (Seabrook Road) as same is now located, constructed, and used, Palm Beach County, Florida; Less the W 100 of the E 9051 of the N 1171 of the S 132 of said NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 25; and Less the W 75 of the E 1080 of the N 117 of the S 132 of said NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of said Section 25; and Less the W 50 of the E 1280 of the N 1171 of S 132 of said NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 25; and Less the W 10-41 of the N 117 of the S 132 of said NE 1A of the SE 1/4 of said Section 25; and Less the W 1201 of the E 805 of the N 117 of the S 132 of said NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 25; all of the above being subject to existing road right-of-ways (if any) thereon; said land situate, lying and being in Palm Beach County, Florida. Motion was approved. After discussion of the lease proposal, Mr. Kurtz moved, seconded by Mr. Turnbull that the Village of Tequesta enter into a two year lease agreement with Jupiter - Tequesta Junior Citizens, Inc. for lease of office space and housing facilities for a fire truck to be furnished by Jupiter Volunteer Fire Department in the Junior Citizens Building, for the stun. of $175. per month with the following conditions: 1. Village will have option to renew lease for two (2) years. 2. Village will have right to sub -lease office space. 3* Office area will contain a minimum of 900 square feet of floor area. 4. Housing for fire truck will contain a minimum of 600 square feet of floor area. and provided Tequesta, Inc. will enter into two (2) year lease with option to renew lease for two (2) years with right to sub -lease for the sum of X137.50 per month, with lease to commence no later than October 9, 1962. The officers of Tequesta, Inc. have given their verbal intent to tinter into this lease with the Village of Tequesta. Motion was approved. Upon motion by Mr. Kurtz,, :,e ^ended by Mr, La and passed, the Village Council proclaimed the week of March 11 thru 17 as Junior Citizens Weekl ,Upon motion by Mr. Valier, seconded by Mr. Lathrop and passed, the application of Dossey Battle, V for a Village Alcoholic Beverage License for use at the Jupiter.- Tecuesta Bowling Lanes was approved.
