OF THE COUNCILMEN Of THE
VILLAGE OF TEQUNSTA, FLORIDA
A special meeting of the Councilmen of the Village of Tequesta
was held Wednesday, August 1, 1962 at the Tequesta Country Club.
Councilmen present were: Messrs. Cornelius, Valier, Lathrop,
Bowden and Turnbull. Also present was Robert Harp, Village Manager.
The Village Manager reported that a letter from Earl Blouin
of Fort Lauderdale called attention to the fact that Lots 17, lb,
19 and 20 in Block 22, Section TS B ", Jupiter in the Pines, had been
zoned R -1 under the Village Zoning Ordinance, but had been sold to
the purchasers as business property and were accepted as such when
Jupiter in the Pines was annexed to the Village. The other corners
of Tequesta Drive are zoned for business according to the original
agreement. Lots 17, 18 and 19 measure 50x_90 and Lot 20 measures
55x90. It was the feeling of Council that these lots should be
zoned C -1 and Mr. Bowden moved, seconded by Mr. Valier that neces-
sary action be taken to have these lots re -zoned from R -1 to C -1.
Motion passed and adopted.
The next item was a petition from Jupiter- Tequesta Junior
Citizens, Inc. requesting that the property they own on Seabrook
Road, the site of the proposed Youth Center, be annexed to the
Village of Tequesta and be zoned C -1 to conform to requirements of
the Community Federal Savings and Loan Association in granting a
mortgage for construction of the building, together with a request
that the land, buildings and personal property be exempt from
taxes and licenses and that the building permit fee be waived. Mr.

for the annexation of the property of the Jupiter - Tequesta Junior
Citizens, Inc. be read. Motion passed. Upon reading of the ordi-
nance, Mr. Turnbull moved, seconded by Mr. Lathrop that Ordinance
No. 46 be adopted. All councilmen being present and in favor of
the motion, Ordinance No. 46 was passed and adopted on first reading.
Mr. Turnbull moved, seconded by Mr. Lathrop.that the lands owned
by Jupiter- Tequesta Junior Citizens, Inc. be zoned C -1 and that
annual taxes on land, buildings and personal property, licenses
and building permit fee be waived on this property. Motion passed
and adopted.
A discussion was held on the signs along Tequesta Drive and
Country Club Drive and Village Manager was instructed to write a
letter to all owners of signs requesting that they be removed at
once and only signs complying with the zoning ordinance be allowed.

uniform and be much like SRD signs and the one on Country Club
Drive at the entrance to Tequesta Country Club Community. Village

been removed.
