OF THE COUNCILMEN OF THE VILL,'GE 02 TEWESTA
A special meeting of the Councilmen of the 'tillage of Tequesta
was held Tuesday, November 20, 1962 at 10:00 a. m. at the Village
Office, Village Square chopping Center, Tequesta, Florida.
Councilmen present were; Messrs: Cornelius, Lathrop, and
Turnbull. Also present were Village Manager Harp and Attorney
Paul W. Potter.
Mayor Cornelius advised that the meeting was called to have
Second :eading of Ordinances of Intent to Annex and for such other
business which may come before the meeting.
At the request of Mayor Cornelius, Attorney Paul Potter gave
Second Reading to an Ordinance showing the intent of the Village
to Anne. Government Lots 1, 1B, 8 and 16 in Section 30, Township
40 South, Range 43 East, Palm Beach County, Florida. Upon motion
by Lathrop, seconded by Turnbull and passed, the Second Reading
of the Ordinance was approved and Ordinance No. 50 was therefore
passed and adopted on Second heading.
Attorney Paul Potter then gave Second Reading to an Ordinance
showing the intent of the Village to annex the Rinker Materials
Corp. property East of the Old Dixie Highdra.y and more fully des-
cribed in the Ordinance. Upon motion by Turnbull, seconded by
Lathrop and passed, the Second Reading of the Ordinance was
approved and Ordinance No. 51 was therefore passed and adopted
on Second :eading.
Attorney Paul Potter then gave Second Reading to an Ordinance
showing the intent of the Village to annex the Sinclair Service
Station property, more fully described in the Ordinance. Upon
motion by Lathrop, second by Turnbull, and passed, the Second
Reading of the Ordinance was approved and Ordinance No. 53 eras
therefore passed and adopted on Second Reading.
Attorney Paul Potter then gave Sccond Reading to an Ordinance
showing the intent of the Village to annex the Texaco Service
Station property, more fully described in the Ordinance. Upon
motion by Turnbull, second by Lathrop and passed, the Second
Reading of the Ordinance was approved and Ordinance No. 53 was
therefore passed and adopted on Second :;eading.
Attorney Paul Potter then gave Second Reading to an Ordinance
showing the intent of the Village to annex the Standard Oil Co.
property, more fully described in the Ordinance. Upon motion by
Lathrop, second by Turnbull and passed, the Second Reading was
approved and Ordinance No. 54 was therefore passed and adopted on
Second Reading.
Immediately following the meeting, Village Clerk Harp,
Potter and Police Chief Dahlmeyer were to post three (3) copies at
some conspicious place in the Village and three (3) copies posted
at some conspicious place in the district to be annexed per the
terms of the Ordinance and Attorney Lord is to see that the
Ordinance are properly published.
Upon motion made by Turnbull, seconded by Lathrop and passed,
Village Manager ia.s authorized to place a page advertisement in the
Jupiter High School "SPOTLIGHT' at a cost of $20.00.
Council requested Manager to have trees trimmed, grass cut and
a general cleanup of the Doc`. Area in Tequesta.
A report was made on the controversy concerning the jurisdic-
tion of the North and South entrance roads to Village Square
Shopping Center and it was the feeling of the Council that this
is a, legal matter to be resolved by the 'tillage Attorney.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned
at 10 :45 a.m.
