MINUTES OF THE C OU NC ILbiEN OF THE
VILLAGE OF TEO,,UESTA, FLOhIDA
At 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 18, 1957, the second meeting
of the councilmen of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, was held at the
Jupiter Inlet Beach Colony, Inc. office at Village Square, Jupiter,
Florida. Those present were: John P. Kurtz, Jr., Gene Moore, Thomas H.
Daly, Albert D. Alderman, C W. Pietz, and ?Falter F. Lathrop.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
On motion duly made and carried the following building codes were
recommended for adoption:
Southern Standard Building Code
1953 -54 Revision - Part Two (Gas) 1956 -57
Electric Code of the Town of Palm Beach, Florida
Plumbinr Code of the Town of Palm Beach,Florida.
On motion duly made and carried it was voted to enter into a contract
with the Jupiter Water Company and request that a five percent (5%) tax be
collected on all water bills in the Village of Tequesta.
On motion duly made and carried it was voted to enter into a contract with
the Florida Power and Light Co. and request that a six percent (6%) tax be
collected on all power and light bills in the Village of Tequesta.
On motion duly made and carried the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to
borrow up to Two Thousand (,$2 Dollars for the first fiscal year.
It was unanimously voted that Dan Barden be our first choice on the
ballot as a Director of the Palm Beaen County Resources Development Board.
It was unanimously voted that we subscribe to "Florida Municipal Record"
a publication by Florida Leap;ue of Municipalities.
On motion duly made and carried the Village of Tequesta set a bulkhead
line at the high water line of the shores of the Loxahatchee River.
On motion duly made and carried it was voted that the Town Council serve
as a Board of Appeals on building codes.
Mr. Albert D. Alderman was appointed Building Inspector and authorized
to appoint plumbing and electrical inspectors.
John P. Kurtz, Jr., Thomas H. Daly, and Walter F. Lathrop were appointed
to represent the Village temporarily on the Palm Beach County Resources
Development Board.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 P.M.
