VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA. FLORIDA
At 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 1957, the third meeting* of the
Councilmen of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, was held at the Jupiter
Inlet Beach Colony, Inc. Office at Village Square, Jupiter, Florida. Those
present were: John P. Kurtz, Jr., Gene Moore, Thomas H. Daly, Albert D.
Alderman., C. W. Pietz, and Walter F. Lathrop.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
On motion duly made and carried Wiard P. Dahlmeyer was appointed Chief
of Police to hold office at the pleasure of the Council. Chief Dahlmeyer
is to be sworn into office by Mayor Kurtz.
On motion duly made and carried, the Clerk was asked to enter into an
agreement with Tequesta, Inc. for the use of a police car and the services
of Mr. Dahlmeyer. The Village to pay Tequesta, Inc. one hundred ($100.00)
dollars per month.
Mayor Kurtz read a letter from Palm Beach County Municipal Association
requesting representation at a banquet to be held at the Hotel George
Washington, October 17th. Messrs. Daly, Alderman, Kurtz and Lathrop expect
to attend.
The Councilmen heard the first reading of Ordinances #3, 4, 5, and 6
and adopted them unanimously. Ordinances #3, 4 o 5, and 6 are attached hereto.
The possibility of requiring a lignor license was discussed. It was
decided to require a license for the sale of alcoholic beverages in the
Village and the cost of same to be one half the state fee.
The matter of liability insurance was brought up by Mr. Pietz and after
discussion it was decided that Mr. Pietz would make recommendations at a
future meeting.
The Councilmen adopted a fiscal year ending December 31st of each year.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:10 PM.
