HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Regular_06/11/1958 MINUTES OF THE COUNCI11 OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA At 9:15 AM on Tuesday, June 11, 1958, the tenth meeting of the Councilmen of the Village of Tequesta, Florida. was held at the Tequesta, Inc. office at Village Square, Jupiter, Florida. Those present were: John P. Kurtz, C.W. Pietz, Albert D. Alderman, William A. Lord, and Walter F. Lathrop. The previoas minutes were read and approved. The Treasurer reported a checking balance of $471.63. A motion was made and passed that Mr. Lord is to prepare an agree- ment with the Jupiter Water Company and an ordinance, if necessary, to the effect that a 5% consumer tax will be charged on each water bill. A motion was made and passed that Mr. Lord should enter into an agreement with the gas company and prepare an ordinance including a 5% consumer tax. On motion dull,* made and seconded, Mr. Lord is to contact the attornies o£ the Florida Power & Light Co. and enter into an agreement with them including a 6% consumer tax on all bills and prepare an ordinan ce. It was requested that a certificate of liability be obtained from each utility company. Mayor Kurtz advised he would look into the matter of street lights and report back at the next meeting. A letter of resignation by Judge Flanagan was read and accepted. Upon motion duly made and seconded, Mayor Kurtz is instructed to act in the capacity of Judge until such time as a new Judge is appointed. A motion was wade and seconded that we join the association of Municipalities of Palm Beach County and forward them a $10.00 check. The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 AM. f` ATTESTED C E
