HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_Regular_01/13/1959 MINUTES OF THE COUNC ILMf�rl OF THE VILLAGE OF TEG?tIESTA, FLORIDA At 9:30 AM, Tuesday, January 13, 1959, the regular meeting of the Councilmen of the Village of Teauesta was held at the Teouesta, Inc. office at Village Snuare, Jupiter, Florida. Those present were: R.B. Wiggins, Albert Alderman, J.P. Kurtt, W. F. Lathrop, T.H. Daly, William Schlusemeyer, William Lord and Robert McAninch. The minutes of the previous special meeting were read, corrected and approved. Ordinance #18 annexing adjoining property was read and unanimously approved, and is made part of the Village's records. A motion was passed authorizing the purchase of a Motorola Transmitter and Receiver for the Police Car. On motion made and seconded, the Mayor was authorized to join the Florida League of Municipalities. It was agreed that a letter be sent to all property owners north of the Loxahatchee River to the Count Line inviting them to petition the town for annexa- t ion. The completed license with the Jupiter 'dater Co. was approved and made part of the Village records. On motion duly made and seconded, the Village Attorney was instructed to take the necessary steps to change from the Palm Beach Town Electrical Code to the Palm Beach County Electrical Code with minor revisions by Robert McAninch. Effective immediately, the new code will apply. At this point, Mayor Clark and Mr. Gladwin, Sr., representing the Town of Jupiter, entered the meeting and there was a general discussion on the pro's and con's of uniting the greater Jupiter Area into one town.
