VILLAGE OF TE(X NEST rk, FLORIDA
At 9:30 AM, Tuesday, February 17, 1959, the regular meeting of the Councilmen
of the Village of Tequesta was held at the Tequesta, Inc. office at Village Square,
Jupiter, Florida. Those present were: J.P. Kurtz, C.W. Pietz, William A. Lord,
Mrs. Raynor S. Miller, T. H. Daly and W. F. Lathrop.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Jupiter In The Pines plats B and C. signed by the Mayor and Clerk, were
accepted by the councilmen and made part of the Village records.
A resolution was made and passed to Bequest consideration from Southern Bell
Tel. & Tel. Co. to include the greatei� "drea in the West Palm Beach Exchange and
thus eliminate the excessive charges on calls to West Palm Beach. It was hoped
the Jupiter, Jupiter Inlet Beach Colony and Salhaven would join in with this request.
The Treasurer reported that accountants were preparing a year end statement and
the assessor was reminded that 1959 assessments are due.
A resolution was made and passed:
"WHEREAS, upon the petitions of RAYNOR S. MILLER, a free dealer, and GEORGE H. LAMS
and ELINOR A. LAWS, his wife, respectively, to the VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, FLORIDA,
for annexation of the following described parcels of land, to-wit:
A parcel of land in Government Lot No. 6, Section 25, Township 40 South,
Range 42 East, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the center lines of E1 Portal and Seville
Road, as shown on Sheet No. 3 of Jupiter Manors, Section One, as filed in
Plat Book 12, page 37, public records of Palm Beach County, Florida, said
intersection being 1,185.2 feet South 67 55 East from the west line of said
Section 25; thence South 87 55 East along said center line of E1 Portal
65.36 feet; thence North 0 13 East, parallel to the west line of said Section
25, 60 feet to the point of beginning and the southwest corner of the parcel
of land herein described; thence continue along the same c ourse North 0
13 cast, 145.30 feet; thence East parallel to the north line of Government
Lot 5 of said Section 25, 357 feet, more or less, to the waters of the North
Prong of the Lo)a,hatc ee Diver; thence southerly along the waters of said
river, 157 feet, more or less, to a point in a line parallel to, and 60 feet
northerly (measured at right angles) from the center line of said El Portal;
thence North 87 55 West along said parallel line, 327 feet, more or less,
to the point of beginning, owned by Raynor 3. Miller, a free dealerp
and
Lot 20, Block 3, Riverside on the Loxahatchee, Jupiter, Palm Beach Co
Florida., rs.rned by George H. Laws and Elinor A. Laws, his wife;
and
WHEREAS, the Village of Tequesta did annex said parcels. among others, under
Ordinance No. 18, duly passed and adopted on the 13th day of January, 1959; and

WHEREAS, one of the conditions of the annexation was that i£, as and when
the Village adopted a zoning ordinance, said parcels would be zoned for multiple
dwellings;
NOIK THEREFOH,, BE IT RESOLVED:
That it be understood that in any consideration or adoption of a zoning code
or ordinance by the Village of Tequesta, Florida, the above described parcels
be zoned for multiple 4wel'Lings."
The Clerk was instructed to contact Mr. Cecil Cornelius on insurance
requirements for the Village.
Attorney Lord was requested to bring a copy of the Palm Beach Zoning Code to
the next meeting.
All councilmen were urged to look for a suitable building inspector for the
Village as Mr. McAninch 's time is limited and he cannot cover the new sections of
the Village.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:30 AM.
