VILLAGE OF TFQUESTA, FLORIDA
At 9:30 AM, Tuesday, May 19, 1959, the regular meeting of the Councilmen of
the Village of Tequesta was held at the Village Office at Village Srsuare, Jupiter,
Florida. Those present were:: J. P. Kurtz, William A. Lord, Albert D. Alderman
and W. F. Lathrop.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Beacon Homes plans for Lots l and 5 of Block 27, Section B, Jupiter- In -The-
Pines were approved with a 151 setback. from the side street. Mr. Aldeni:an voted
against approval, but he was in the minority. The Clerk was rer:uested to contact
Mr. Schlusemeyer and advise him of the difference between the setback requirements
of the Village and the setback requirements of the deeds he is issuing.
Ordinance #19, adopting the same building, electric and plumbing code as
Palm Beach County, with the exception of fees and septic tank requirements, was
read and adopted.
The Councilmen approved the Mayor's appointment of Cecil "Zeke" Cornelius to
fill- the unexpired term of Conrad Pietz as Vice Mayor and Courcilrian.
A letter from Tequesta, Inc. partitioning the Village to abandon three small.
sections of road was referred to Attorney Lord.
Ordinance #20 was read for the second time and approved.
The Financial. Statement of the Village of Tequesta as of December 31, 1958
submitted by Perry and Dee was approved and is attached to these minutes.
The Treasurer reported approximately $3500. in the checking account as of
May 19, 1959.
The Mayor requested Attorney Lord to give, at the next meetir.,-, a schedule
of registration for voters, date of first election, methods, etc.

Attorney Flanagants letters were read and discussed, and the �4 as instructed
to write Flanagan to the effect that his lot in Waterway Village would be cors.dered
favorably as a combination residence and law office if he was successful in getting
a majority of the land - owners in Waterway Village to change the deed rest r] ct - !.on.
Attorney Flanagants letter about Mr. Murrayt.s property was discussed, and the Clerk
was instructed to reply t }at this land would be zoned C -2 when the Village of
Tequesta put into effect a zoning code.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:45 AM.
