VILLAGE OF TEQUE3TA, FLORIDA
At 9:30 AM, Tuesday, June 16, 1959, the regular meeting of the Councilmen of
the Village of Tequesta eras held at the Village Office at Village Square, Jupiter,
Florida. Those present were: J.P. Kurtz, ?eke Cornelius, Thomas H. Daly, Albert
Alderman, Robert Harp, William Schlusemeyer, Pat Flanagan, and W.F. Lathrop.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The insurance policie8 and borax presented ':oy the Cornelius Agency were dis-
cussE�d and approved.
It was agreed that we ask Attorney Lord to take the necess n.ry steps to ch.ar,vP
t,ne name of El Portal Road, from Route #1 to the Tequesta, gate, to Tequesta Drive.
The setback restrictions remain as is and can only be changed by special
approval of the Council.
Mayor Kurtz advised lie would contact Mr. Schlusemeyer re: the possi.bi-Itty of
securing a playground area.
Mr. Harp is to k? -gip a record of how his time is spent between the Village,
Club and Tequesta, Inc., and his sa,l< rye will be pro -rated when this is determined.
A motion was made and unanimously carried to accept the plat of Bay Harbor and
it becomes a part of the Village's records.
The Council authorized the purchase of a lawn mower for maintenance of the
Village Parks.
The first reading of Ordinance #21 covering land described im Petitions presented
by A. A. Flanagan at said meeting was read and unanimously approved with the provision
that these lands had petitioned the Village with the condition that when a zoning
ordinance is adopted 'by the Village, these lands be zoned as follows:
"That portion South of Bridge Road, lying between the Water Company and Old
Dixie Highway, shall be zoned C -2; that portion of the. Jupiter 11 80" lying North of
Bridge Road and abutting Old Dixie Highway, shall be zoned C -2 to a depth of 250
feet measured at right angles to said Old Dixie Highway; the remaining land in
Jupiter 11 shall be zoned C -1 with C -2 conditional use and upon proper application
for conditional C-2 use in the C -1 zone, said conditional use shall not be a.rbitr.arily
denied; a copy of Jupiter Beach Village map, setting out said zoning, is attached
hereto and made a part of these minutes."
A. A. Flanagan requested that the cover letters and all attachments thereto,
which were submitted to the Council for their consideration., be made a part of the
Minutes of said Meeting of June 16th.
The Clerk was reminded to contact all utilities as to the new boundaries of
the Village.
Attorney Flanagan again requested consideration of his request that if his
property in Waterway Village was annexed to the Village that it be zoned so that
it could be used as both a home and law office.

Attorney Flanagan requested that the Council give first consideration to his
clientts, S. M. Painter, request for a liquor license when such a license becomes
available.
The Village Treasurer submitted the following budget for the current fiscal

Gentlemen:
Attached hereto is a Petition executed by 1 Maynard T. T- Jurray,
the owner of the of land described therein, requesting the
Village of Tequesta to annex said parcel of land, SUBJECT TO
said land being zoned for the specific use as set out in drawings
attached to my letter to Mr. Walter F. Lathrop, dated April 20,
1959 (C -2 zoning).
Said Petition is being submitted to this honorable body only on
the conditions as set out hereinabove and is not a petition or
request to the Village of Tequesta to annex said land if said
conditions are not approved.
I am attaching a copy of my letter to Mr. Lathrop, hereinabove
referred to, and I respectfully request that this cover letter
and attachments shall be read into and become a part of the minutes
of said Council Tdeeting.

Re: Petition to Annex a Parcel (�6)
of land in Section 30 - -43
Gentlemen:
Attached hereto is a Petition executed by Mr. Maynard T. Murray,
holder of an Option, by Assignment, said Option having been exercised
and the moneys are now in my Trust Account pending execution of
proper releases from mortgages and checking of title and title will
pass to Mr. Murray on this parcel of land immediately upon obtaining
releases and clearing of title. The Deed to said property has been
drawn and executed and is being held pending clearing of title to
said land. This Petition requesting the Village of Tequesta to
annex said parcel of land is SUBJECT TO said land being zoned for
the specific use as set out in drawings attached to my letter to
Mr. Walter F. Lathrop, dated April 20, 1959 (C -2 zoning).
Said Petition is being submitted to this honorable body only on
the conditions as set out hereinabove and is not a petition or
request to the Village of Tequesta to annex said land if said
conditions are not approved.
I have attached a copy of my letter to Mr. Lathrop, hereinabove
referred to, to my letter re: Petition to Annex Parcel == -5 held by

Attached_ hereto is a Petition executed by the Loxahatchee Corporation,
the owner of the land described therein, requesting the Village of
Tequesta to annex said parcel of land, SUBJECT TO said land being zoned
as follows: That portion South of Bridge Road, lying between the dater
Company and Old Dixie Highway, shall be zoned C -2; that portion of the
Jupiter "80" lying North of Bridge Road and abutting Old Dixie Highway,
