THE VILLAGE OF TECQUESTA
Held March 14, 1961
At 9:30 A.N., Tuesday, March 14, 1961, the regular monthly meeting of the
Councilmen of the Village of Tequesta was held at the Tequesta Country Club, Teppesta.,
Florida.
Councilmen present were: Thomas H. Daly. Cecil Cornelius, Robert C.'Valier
and Walter F. Lathrop. Also present were Paul Potter, George Offut and
B. W. Renni.nger.
In the absence of the Clerk, Robert Harp, the minutes were kept by W. F.
Lathrop.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The treasurers report-for the period ending February : 8, 1961 was approved and
ordered filed. with these minutes.
Following a lengthy discussion on the proposed sewerage plant in Jupiter the
Pines, it was unanimously moved that approval be given- tor•the plant on Lot,35,
replat of Section "B ", Jupiter in the Pines, subject to a letter of agreement from
the developer, William E. Schlusemeyer, as to height, diameter, landscaping, chain
link fence, proper maintenance of plant and shrubbery and a statement as to no odor,
The.Village agreed to give a license to operate same and give easements providing
the letter is acceptable. The Council asked the Mayor to contact George Simons for
his approval.
Mr. Renninger spoke of the Chamber of Commerce plans for teen town and the
Councilmen expressed their approval, The .site 'proposed is the most southerly section
on Seabrook Road which is currently excluded from the Village but surrounded on
three sides.
There was a discussion bf the ordinance on clothes drying yards and the City
Manager was requested to send out letters,to violaters,'
A motion was made and passed appointing Miss Rose Pelo and Mr. Robert Harp to
the Election Board.
It was agreed that in the future minutes be mailed to the Councilmen to eliminate
the actual reading and thus speed up meetings.
Approval was granted for paying-the additional automobile insurance for
Patrolman Lou Laliberte.
Providing proper easements can be obtained for a right of way from Route #1 to
AlA on the south side of-the Water Company property and Mr. Murray's property it was
agreed that the Village pay 1/3' the cost of shelling a short strip on sand and
Mr. Offut committed that Water' Company to paying 1/3. The. cost is estimated at $100.
and Mr. Murray is to be contacted to see if he will pay the final 1/3,

It was unanimously voted not to advertise in the Florida. Police Journal.
On motion made and seconded, it was unanimously voted to zone the property on
the southwest corner of Sevilla Road and Tequesta Drive for a church to be erected
I the First United Presb.,rterian Church with the condition that when a zoning ordi-
nance is adopted by the Village, these lands will_ be zoned for a church.
The annual. reports the Village for the past two years were examined by the
Coizicilmen.
A motion was made and seconded to accent the resolution on changing the Village
Charter, a copy is attached to these minutes.
The Mayor was requested to write the U. S. Engineers giving approval of the
Louis BiliS et al proposed bridge <tcros the Loxa'�iaLc'hee River.
The Council asked that bids be obtained on widening the paved surface at the
corners of River Drive and Golfview Drive as well as Fairway North and North
Place.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:45 A.M.
