A meeting of the Village of Tequesta Community Appearance Board
was held at 9:OO A.M., Wednesday, December 12, 1984 in the Village Hall,
357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida.
Board members present were: Nagle, Sundermann and Ricci. Also
present was: Robert Harp, Clerk of the Board.
Vice Chairman Nagle chaired the meeting.
The Clerk advised that three (3) additional items had been received
for the Board's consideration since the Notice of the Meeting had been pub-
lished and distributed.
No one was in attendance at the meeting representing any appli-
cants, however, at approximately 9:05, Mr. Scott Tengzelius, representing
American Awning Company, Inc. arrived:. acid . the —Board then:.con-
sidered their application for an awning for Jupiter /Tequesta Travel,
144 Bridge Road (formerly Butcher Block), Building /Owner Leonhardt Sullivan
& Association, Inc. The drawings and location of the awning were shown
to the Board Tenzelius explained the awning was 29 -1/2 feet long by 7
feet wide. The awning is to come from the center of the building to a point
in line with the front of the existing building. Tenzelius said the color
of the awning is to be Royal Blue with White Trim and swatches of the colors
were shown. The name is to be on the face of the awning. Nagle said he
did not like the Royal Blue Color as it was too stark and asked Tengzelius
why this color. Tengzelius advised the color was to conform to the Travel
Agency's colors of red, white and blue. Nagle said the blue was too stark
with the existing earth colors. Ricci said the location needed something to
attract attention and did not see anything wrong with the color. Sunder -
mann said he did not see anything wrong with the color for that location
and called attention to other colors in the general area. Ricci moved,
second by Sundermann that the plans for the awning as submitted be approved.
Ricci said there was no existing basis on which to make an approval as to
color in that area and it is not on a main drag and called attention to
.existing conditions in the area. Nagle said the Board has the right to
consider color under their duties and powers as set forth in the Code.
Nagle said he would like it to be green color. Sundermann noted that
various persons have different likes and dislikes as to color preference.
The vote on the motion was:
