Board members present were: Cleveland, Pierson, Ricci and Alternate member, R. Butterfield. Members Nagle and Sundermann had advised they would not be in attendance. Also present was R. Harp, Clerk of the Board. Chairman Cleveland read the notice of the meeting and the matter of the consideration of the Village Green Fountain which came in after the notice of the meeting was published. The first item for consideration was the application of City Signs, for Broedell, Inc., for two (2) signs for the new Broedell building at 357 Cypress Drive. James Whittle from City Signs and Frank Broedell, Sr. were in attendance.- The Board had received copies of the proposed signs to be located to the north and south front of the building, the words to be "Cypress Plaza ". Broedell said the signs were to be the name of the building. Whittle said the signs were to be 10" cutout brown plexiglass letters edged with gold trim I" thick mounted on 3/16" clear plexiglass. A discussion ensued as to where the signs should be located under the mansard roof line on the facia. After much discussion it was determined that the signs should be located approximately the same distance from each end of the building but centered over a bay in each case. An artist's rendition of the entire building was shown by Whittle and used for determining the locations for the signs. Ricci moved, second by Pierson that the "application for two (2) signs by City Signs for Broedell, Inc., (Cypress Plaza) be approved" as submitted. The vote on the motion was: Ricci; - for Pierson - for Cleveland - for R. Butterfield - for and the motion therefore passed . The Board then signed the plans for the Signs - Frank Broedell Building, 357 Cypress Drive. The next item for consideration was the application of the Village Green Fountain Committee, Carlton D. Stoddard, Coordinator, for a fountain, lighting, sign and plaque for the Village Green, the Village Park area east of the Village hall. Stoddard and Ken Parket were in attendance rep- resenting the applicant. The Board looked at the site plan and plans for the fountain and sign for the Village Green. The pro- posed sign face is approximately 7' wide by 3' high mounted between two stone pillars which are 5 -1/2' high. The face is in a 4 frame. Much discussion ensued on all aspects of the sign with the following revisions ultimately agreed upon: 1. Sign to be natural wood background with silver gray stain. 2. Letters to be routed. 3. All letters to be painted dark green 4. Word "Tequesta" to be 4 capital letters 5. Words "Village Green" to be 6 capital letters. 6. Words "Travelers Palm Garden Club" to be 3" lower case letters. 7. Words "in 1974" to be eliminated. 8. Words "Planned By" and "Richard K. Dishcer Landscape Architect" to be 2 lower case letters. 9. The vote on the motion was: Ricci - for Pierson - for Cleveland - for and the motion therefore passed. The plans include edging the path- way with cord brick laid on edge as well as edging some of the trees and bushes in a similar manner. The Board was in agreement on the proposed landscaping. The Board then reviewed the plans for the fountain. The pool is to be 20' diameter and 27' from its pad.
