MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA._ COMMUNITY APPEARANCE BOARD JULY 3, 1985 A meeting of the Village of Tequesta Community Appearance Board was held at 9:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 3, 1985 in the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida. Board members present were: Nagle and Sundermann and Alternate Member Ruth Butterfield. Also present were: Robert Harp, Clerk of the Board and Scott D. Ladd, Building Official. Nagle, Vice Chairman of the Board chaired the meeting. He read the Notice of the Meeting. The first matter for.consideration was the plans for a revised store front for 367 Tequesta Drive, Gallery Square North, owned by Dorothy Campbell. Campbell was in attendance at the meeting as was Charles Adams, South Palm Construction, General Contractor, who would be doing the work. Plans for the proposed revisions were shown to the Board. Adams advised that the work proposed was to construct raised stucco panels above the overhang from the west edge of the Store to Gallery S. Also included is the front of the building located directly behind Gallery 5. This would match Gallery 5 and will be painted a light gray color, the same as Gallery 5. It was explained Campbell owns the store front unit at 367 Tequesta Drive, the unit housing the library and the buildings housing Gallery 5 and the Ritz. Nagle said he would like to see a graphic as well as the plans and Ladd suggested the Board could look at Gallery 5 which is right next to the Village Hall. Ladd said the raised panels are called. "Coins" and often smaller ones are on houses and other buildings for decorative purposes. It was noted the red brick on the front of the building below the overhang were remain. At this point in the meeting, the Board decided to consider the next item before looking at the site in the field for the new store elevation. This was the application of City Signs, acting for Bob Kotecki for a 2 wood sign for his building at 367 Cypress Drive with the words "Bob Kotecki Insurance" with State Farm logo on the left. Kotecki was in attendance and color photographs of Signs in the Broedell Shopping Center next door to the Kotecki building and plans for the Sign were shown to the Board. Kotecki said the Sign would match the Broedell Signs with Broedell Blue background and cut out letters Cream color. Kotecki advised the Board that he had rented other space in his building and would like the Board to consider two additional Signs, both 1 -1 /2'x 4' in size with same background and color of letters. The Kotecki Sign would be on the south panel of the front of the building and the other two signs would be on the north panel. Sundermann moved, second by Butterfield, Minutes of the Community Appearance Board July 3, 1985 Page 2 - --------------------------------------------- "that the plans for the Signs for the Kotecki building be approved as sub- mitted." The vote on the motion was: Sundermann - for Butterfield - for Nagle - for and the motion therefore-passed and the Board members signed the plans for the Signs. The Board then went outside to Gallery Square North to look at the Campbell building and Gallery 5 to see what the proposed exterior revision would look like. Campbell noted the library lettering will be revised to conform to that on Glllery S. She again pointed out the color would match Gallery 5. Adams explained how the raised stucco panels would be constructed. The Board then returned to the Village Hall. Ladd noted and Campbell con- firmed that the Signage for the new unit, the library and the building behind Gallery 5 would be the same style and color as Gallery 5 and would be a uniform Signage concept and suggested that the Board also consider the appro- val of the Signage at this time. Sundermann moved, second "by Butterfield "that the plans for the exterior revisions for - 367 Tequesta Drive and the County Library Store Unit and the building behind Gallery 5 be approved as submitted and that the Signage for the units conform to the style and color of the Gallery 5. The vote on the motion was: Sundermann - for Butterfield - for Nagle - for and the motion therefore passed. The Board members then signed the plans for the Storefront revisions, South Palm Construction, East half Gallery Square revision, Date June .1985, Drawn by R. L. Harrell. The meeting was adjourned at 9 :32 A.M.
