WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta established procedures for disposing of surplus Village property; and WHEREAS, the Village Council owns certain property as described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the property has become obsolete over time; and WHEREAS, the Village Council declares the property in Exhibit "A" to be surplus property and directs the Village Manager to dispose of the surplus property in accordance with the Village's adopted procedures; and WHEREAS, the Village Council finds that this Resolution will promote the health, safety and welfare of the Village NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 The Village Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, hereby declares the items attached hereto as Exhibit "A", to be surplus and directs the Village Manager to dispose of the surplus property as described in Exhibit "A" in a manner consistent with the Village's adopted procedures. Section 2 All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith shall be and hereby are repealed Section 3 This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage. Weinand, Dir. of Comm�.in' y Dev./Fire Chief Date : October 4, 2 O11 �,,�' Subject: Donation of surplus and obsolete Fire Department bunker gear. Currently we have twelve (12) sets of bunker gear that needs to be disposed of. Each set consists of a one coat and one pair of pants. This bunker gear no longer meets the N.F.P.A. safety standards; therefore it may not be utilized in the United States for structural firefighting any longer. Fire-medic Allen has requested this gear to be donated to the Commonwealth of Dominica, located in the Lesser Antilles. Their Fire-Rescue Department operates with equipment that we would consider sub-standard and the donation of this gear would be a great improvement in safety for their firefighters. Fire-medic Allen is travelling to that island in November to teach Trauma Care to their Paramedics and can transport this gear at no cost. This gear has no value as firefighting equipment in this country but is of great value to the impoverished Commonwealth of Dominica.
