Chai.rman Howell suggested that the Village ought to tie into a civic, patriotic-t.,Ype occur.r.ence, recognizing that, there is a. need t� have somethi.ng every year as a commemorati.ve event, but som�thing t,hat.'s fun �s wel.l -- a lzind of `flag-wavi_ng' da,y -- th�,t �aould invo]ve the youth as wPll as adults i.n br.inging the communi t.,y t.�get.he�°, noting t,hat there i s no substi.ttate for go�d comm�anication. Br�,dford read a memorandum from H�rrs� King, Planning Administrator, Martin ('�iznt.y, regarding joint Pfforts �P.t;WP_P.11 Martin County and the Vil]_a.ge i.n lase �.nd costs for maintaining Tequest�, Park. Mr. Kascavelis commended this idea and suggested it mi.ght al]_ow fin�nci.a,l. freedom for a recreat.ional center. Chairman Howell reminded the (;ommittee t.hat t,oday's youth are tomorrow's leaders, �,nd we need to plant s�me quali.ty seeds now. He voi.ced the need of a plan, or at ]east an outli_ne, for park and recreationa.l needs for. the neYt few years. VI. ANY OTHER MATTERS No other matter.s wer•e brought befor.P the Gommitt,ee, VII.
