HomeMy WebLinkAboutDocumentation_Recreation_Tab 04_04/02/2003 � '.,,� �� ° �� � , � RESOLUTION NO. 9-Ol/OZ � 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF ;� THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH �: COUNTY, FLURIDA, ESTABLISHING AN AD HOC �� ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO THE VILLAGE � i COUNCIL TO BE KNOWN AS THE PARK5 AND � RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE; � ESTABLISHING ITS PURPOSE; PROVIDING FUR f ITS MAKEUP; AND ESTABLISHING THE TERM '� OF ITS EXISTENCE; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE I; ± i DATE. ,� �� �� WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Tequesta deems it appropriate '�to review the recreational needs and desires of its citizens before establishing a �. � �recreational program; and ;, �� �� °� WHEREAS, the Village Council desires to establish a Parks and Recreation ��Advisory Committee for the purpose of collecting input from the citizens with regards to � iParks and Recreation and bringing the information to the Village Council; and i� ;� NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED SY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL #�OF THE VILLAGE OF TEQUESTA, PALM BEACH COUNTY, FLORIDA, AS - �FOLLOWS: - � SECTION 1. The Village Council hereby authorizes the formation of an ad hoc � advisory board to be known as the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. The � specific purpose of said Committee shall be to serve as an advisory committee to the ; Village Council on matters relating to the Village parks and recreational activities, and � what Tequesta's citizens would desire in a recreational program. :I ;�SECTTON 2. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall consist of seven (7) �;members, all of whom shall be residents of the Village. Applications to the Committee � swill be available to ail citizens, and the Council shall select and ratify seven (7) members ��from the applicants at a Village Council Meeting subsequent to at least seven (7) ; 7applications having been received. ; � ..... � � SECTION 3: Of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee's seven (7) members, ��three (3) shall serve a term of one (1) year, and four (4) for the term of two (2) years from f; ;: and after their appointment. Their successors shall be appointed for the term of two (2) ;,years from and after the expiration of their terms of their predecessors in office. -: : SECTION 4. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall meet as frequently as `determined by the Committee; and .: C ^ Y SECTION 5. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee shall be dissolved at the will of the Village Council. SECTION 6. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage. THE FOREGUING RESOLUTION was offered by Councilmember von Frank, who moved its adoption. The Resolution was seconded by Councilmember Capretta, and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: FOR AGAINST Mayor Ge�aldine A. Genco � Yice Mayor Joseph N.
