Mission Statement
To provide services and programs that enhance the quality of
life for all Village residents.
Development in Tequesta
The Village has become a highly desirable place to live and to have a
busines. This truth is evident in the dramatic increa.ses in property values,
re-development of residential and commercial properties and the desire to
develop the few vacant parcels of land in the Village.
Over the past year, we have spent a considerable amount of time reviewing
proposed development and considering their impact on the future of our
village.
I know that you join me, in a deep commitment, to insuring that we continue
to carefully consider all development proposals. The Village is fortunate to
have a good, well thought out set of codes. The preservation, of these
regulation.s, is fundamentaal to insuring the quality of life that make our
village the pecial and sought after community tha.t it is.
Recently, considerable interest in the C-2 zoning district has been eressed.
As previously eressed, I am sincerely concerned about maintaining the
integrity of the C-2 zoning. I, therefore; would like to ask for a consensus of
council to have the Village Manager review the eisting C-2 zoning
language, with staff and legal counsel, and to report their findings to the
Village Council for consideration.

Goals and Objectives
1) I'd like to evaluate where our personnel salaries are in comparison
with other municipalities in the county and decide as a council
whether or not they are where we want them to be.
I feel that we demand and expect so much from our staff. We continually
expect them to do more and more, to be multi faceted, to be creative and to
give us the highest quality service at the same time expecting them to be
frugal with their budgeted dollars. This Village is a remarkably weli-run
business, primarily because of the exemplary efforts by our staff that are
devoted to making it such an efficient operation.
I want to make sure that our salaries and benefits are competitive and
commensurate with the jobs that we expect them to do. We have some
outstanding employees in the Village and I want to be sure that we keep
them. :
I would respectfully request that the Council take a look at this and decide
whether or not they are satisfied with our current salaxy levels.
2) I'd like to set a goal for the Council to make it a point to accentuate
the positive things that are going on in the Tillage. We should
complement our sta.ff, our residents and each other when it is deserved
— and I believe that we will have many opporturuties and reasons to do
that.
3) I'd like to continue to look for grants and alternative sources of
revenue, whenever possible, to help us bring even more enhancements
to our community.
4) I'd like to encourage more open dialogue between the Council
members and the manager, through discussions between each of us
individually with the manager and workshops to exchange ideas and
information, amongst the five of us and to discuss issues and/or
concerns, that may also help us curtail the amount of time and
resources that are spent on legal assistance.
I believe that we have an abundance of resources that can be used to
gather information and potentially answer many of our questions. This
includes information that we as council members could share with each
other in the proper forum. I believe that it would help us all to grow and
to learn.

5) I look forward to watching the progress of the projects that are on
going as we enter the new fiscal year and I hope we will continue to focus
on more projects that we can do to enhance the Village and make our ,
residents proud of their community. I want to spend our revenues wisely, in
a manner that will have with the greatest impact that we can have toward
giving our resdents the highest level of service and quality of life that we
can reasonably provide.
