The low bid for this joint project between the Village of Tequesta and the Loxahatchee River District was $159,206.50. The Sanitary component was $128,943.50 and the Water component was $30,263.00. We have budgeted $23,900.00 for our portion of the contract, which has gone above our estimate due to increased construction and material costs. We will have to appropriate an additional $6,400.00 to fund this expansion. As an alternate on this bid, we have locked in prices for the other two (2) streets. We have budgeted for the second phase of this project in FY 2004/2005 and should be able to issue a change order in the beginning of October for the additional expansion. It appeared that the low bid was favorable to each of us, therefore, in order to expedite the process the District Board took action at the July meeting with approval of the following motion: "That the District Governing Board approve the award of contract to Dixie Plumbing, lnc. by the Village of Tequesta, in an amount of $128,943.50, for Item B.•Low Pressure Sewer System portion of the contract, contingent upon award of Contract Item A. Water Main Extension for the `Jupiter Heights Improvements' contract by the Village of Tequesta." Upon award of the contract by the Village, the District will issue a Purchase Order for the amount indicated above.
