COUZZO, VILLAGE MANAGER CC: JODY FORSYTHE, FINANCE DIRECTOR FROM: RUSSELL K. WHITE, PUBLIC SERVICES MANAGER SUBJECT: BUCKET TRUCK PURCHASE DATE: JANUARY 31, 2012 Attached, please find the agenda item for lie purchase of a 2012 International bucket truck. As you are aware, this fiscal year we budgeted $60,000.00 for the purchase of a new bucket truck to be used for general maintenance and public works throughout the Village. However, these funds will be insufficient to make the purchase as previously anticipated. The actual cost for a new bucket truck is $127,319.00. We are currently renting a new 2012 model year bucket truck. The rental agreement provides the option to purchase this truck based on GSA contract pricing. We will have to appropriate the balance of $67,320.00 to make this purchase. We have the ability to rent this unit until the new fiscal year and receive a rental credit towards the purchase. I have discussed this with our Finance Director and she agrees appropriating the funding this year will save costs. If the Village Council approves, we will have to appropriate the balance fram the following ftiznds: 401-411 664.600 - $45,304.00 (Utilities) 403-250 664.600 - $11,008.00 (Stormwater) 001-210 664.600 - $11,008.00 (Public Works) Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me.
