Genco, Vice Mayor of the Village of Tequesta, Tequesta Florida has participated in a training program for elected municipal officials on December 3-4, 2004. The Advanced Institute for Elected Municipal Officials, sponsored by the John Scott Dailey Florida Institute of Government and the Florida League of Cities, is a two-day, intensive program for elected officials who have completed the basic Institute for Elected Municipal Officials or who have completed one or more terms in office. The program was held at Deerfield Beach, Florida. The course consists of five sessions: Decision Making Styles, Media Relations, Advanced Revenues and Finances, Understanding Growth Management in Florida's Cities, and Personnel Labor Issues. Participants receive a certificate if they complete the 16- hour program. The League and Institute started this training program in 1994, and is offered two times each year, in varying locations.
