HomeMy WebLinkAboutDocumentation_Local Planning Agency_Tab 01_06/21/2012 DRAFT PLANNING AND ZONING ADVISORY BOARD Sitting as the Local Pianning Agency MEETING MINUTES May 17, 2012 CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL The Village of Tequesta Planning and Zoning Advisory Board, sitting as the Local Planning Agency, heid a regularly scheduled meeting at the Tequesta Viilage Hall, 345 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, Florida, on Thursday, March 15, 2092. The meeting was called to order at 6:13 p.m. A roll call was taken by Deanna Mayo, Assistant to the Village Clerk, who noted the following were present: Chair James Hackett, Vice Chair Michael Schmidt, Board Member Elizabeth Schauer, Board Member Eric Jolly, Board Member Steven P. Eagen, and Alternates Janet Strand, and Robert N. Aumack. Alternate Sebastian A. Loaiza was absent from the meeting. Also present were Acting Community Development Director James Weinand, Village Attorney Keith Davis, and Assistant to the Village Clerk Deanna Mayo. APPROVAL OF AGENDA MOTION Board Member Jolly moved to approve the agenda as submitted; Board Member Schauer seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous 5-0 vote. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES MOTION Board Member Schauer moved to approve the minutes of the March 15, 2012 meeting as submitted. Vice Chair Schmidt seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous 5- 0 vote. SWEARING IN OF WITNESSES There were no witnesses present to be sworn. EX PARTE COMMUNICATIONS No ex parte communications were reported. PLANNING AND ZONING ADVISORY BOARD SITTING AS LPA MEETING MINUTES May 17, 2012 Page2of3 ORDINANCE NO. 7-12 An Ordinance of the Vilfage Council of the Village of Tequesta, Florida, amending its Code of Ordinances at Chapter 76, Waterway Control. By amending this Chapter to update and revise regulations for the construction, erection, installation, use and maintenance of marine structures including docks, piers, mooring devices, boatlifts and similar structures; providing separate and distinct regulations for such structures located on canals, versus those located on the Loxahatchee River or Intracoastal Waterway; providing definitions; providing that each and every other section and subsection of Chapter 76 Waterway Control shall remain in full force and effect as previously adopted; providing a conflicts ' clause, a severability clause and authority to codify, providing an efFective date; and for other purposes. Attorney Davis provided background for Ordinance No. 7-12. Public Comment Abby Brennan, 23 Tradewinds Circle, thanked the Board for their work to correct the code, and explained some of the existing problems on the canals. Jim Humpage, 561 North Dover Road, thanked the Board for their work. Board Comments Member Jolly recommended review of the definitions of inean high water and mean low water, which were unclear MOTION Board Member Jolly moved to approve Ordinance No. 7-12 with the definitions of inean high water and mean low water corrected. Board Member Schauer seconded the motion, which carried by unanimous 5-0 vote.
