PLEASE FORWARD TO COUNCIL.
Lori, as discussed at the last Council Workshop on Monday July 30th, I am forwarding a FIRST DRAFT of a Mission
Statement for Council review. During the course of my research, I discovered several articles and training guides that
outlined the content, context and format of a municipality's statement of Vision, Mission and Values. In addition,
sections that closely resemble the corporate S.W.O.T. model have been included on pages 2 and 3 under the headings of
Community Assets, Key Issues, Goals and Opportunities and Priorities and Action Plan.
Although I did try to capture topics Council members spoke to at previous workshops, the examples I have used under
those headings are certainly incomplete, randomly stated and in no particular order. I am presenting this simply as a
catalyst for discussion at our Council Workshop this Saturday, August 1 l'.
Thank you,
