Subject: Consideration for a Variance to the terms of the Official Comprehensive 2oning
�rdinance of the Village of Tequesta, Section XII, Sign Regulations, Subsection
(M)(2), Subdivision and Development Signs, to allow the erection of two seven
feet one and one-half inches (7' 1.5”} high freestanding identification markers
(permanent entrance sign} located within the Village of Tequesta public road
right-of-way along Country Club Drive in the Tequesta Country Club, Tequesta,
Florida, in lieu of the maximum six foot (6') high permanent entrance sign as
required by the Code.. Sande McKey and Pat Hartley, agents for the Tequesta
Country Club Community Association, applicant.
The following request for variance application is in addition to the application for use of the
Village of Tequesta public road right-of-way by the Tequesta Country Club Community
Association for the permanent placement of identification markers. The identification marker in
the Village of Tequesta right-of-way along Country Club Drive in front of the Tequesta Country
Club requires a variance to the height requirement set forth in the Code of Ordinances for
Subdivision and Development Signs. The variance application comes before Council as outlined
in Section XIII, Appeals and Variances, Board of Adjustment and Village Council.
Attached are nineteen (19) sets of packets, including an original, for the above referenced
subject. Please place this item on the September 9, 1999, Council agenda. (This is a Quasi-
Judicial Hearing)

(A) Appeals and Variances. Appeals and variaacea described
herein shall be considered by either the board of adj�stment or .
the village coutncil. Tlie board of adjus�inent shall. co�sider
�$PPeals and variances� rela�ting to single-faznily prope=ties and
structures loca#ed within the 8-1-A and lt 1 Single-Family Dwell-
ing Districts of the village. The village council shall coneid�r
appeals and varia�ces relating to all other properties not va�ithin
the juriadiction of the board of ad,�ustment, including prnperties
withi�n tlie K-1: A and It-1:�g�e-I�'amiily Dwelling Districts whi.ch .
are not single-�amily, structures .and propertie� in al�� other zoning �
distriets to the vi1Ta�, aad . appeals and variances : ire�ating to

height to be readily �isible as they will be competin� for visibility with the Iiv� oak trees to bz planted in
