I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALI,
The Tree Board of the Village of Tequesta held a regularly
scheduled meeting at the Village Hall, 357 Tequesta Drive,
Tequesta, Florida, on Wednesday, March 30, 1994. The meeting
was called to order by Chairwoman Cook at 10:30 A.M. Tree
Board members present were: Paul Coben, Ruth Maitland,
Claudette Dalack and Alternate Member Steve Parker. Also in
attendance was Gary Preston, Director of Public Works and
Recreation, and Scott D. Ladd, Clerk of the Board.
ZI. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The Agenda was approved.
III. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETZNG MINUTES
1) February 23, 1994 Tree Board meeting Minutes were
approved as submitted. "
IV. NEW BUSINESS •
1) Review Tequesta Drive Streetscape Phase II (Seabrook Road
to Riverside Drive).
Gary Preston showed the Board on the plans where along
Tequesta Drive the queen palms will be planted, and where the
_ live oaks will go in the commercial areas. Mr. Preston also
showed the Board where the irrigation work needs to be done.
$12,500 was proposed for the FY95 budget which will include a
total of 57 trees, shrubs, irriqation and ground cover.
Boardmember Coben moved to approve next year's project which
would consist of 57 trees, upgrade of irrigation system, with
a cost proposal of $12,500. Boardmember Maitland seconded the

motion. The vote on the motion was:
Leslie Cook - for
Paul Coben - for
Ruth Maitland - for
Stephen Parker - for
(Claudette Dalack was out of the room during the vote).
the motion was therefore passed and adopted.
V.:UNFINISHED SUSINESS
1) Progress Report on Tequesta Drive Streetscape Phase I
(Fiesta Ave.�Willow Road to Seabrook Road).
Mr. Preston said the contractor has completed the jack and
bore of all the roadways and driveways between Fiesta and
Venus. The irrigation will go in later this week and next
week between Venus and Seabrook Road by Tequesta's Public
Works crew. Mr. Preston described the landscaping going in at
Gallery Square South.
Mr. Preston discussed the installation of sidewalks along
Tequesta Drive, and noted that there was opposition to this at
Village Green Park. The Board is in favor of sidewalks from
Willow Road to Gallery Square North. Boardmember Coben moved
that the Tree Board go on record as endorsing the installation
of a sidewalk as proposed from Willow Road to Gallery Square
North. Boardmember Maitland seconded the motion. The vote on
the motion was:

the motion was therefore passed and adopted.
2) Street location for Tree City USA signs.
Various locations were discussed. Mr. Parker suggested Mr.
Preston take pictures of the proposed locations for review at
the next meeting. .
Boardmember Maitland informed the Board that she was not able
to obtain the seedlings for Arbor Day.

VI. ANY OTHER MATTERS
Chair�aor.^.an Cook read an article from the newspaper about Pal;r,
Beacn Gardens' beautification program whereby tney get
donations. Boardmember Maitland gave the name of the agency
to contact for donations, and Mr. Preston said they had
contacted this agency once before and explained it was not
feasible due to the required professional.
Mr. Preston told the Board that on Arbor Day, the Arbor Day
tree will be planted in Sali Weiner's honor.
Chairwoman Cook suggested Mr. Preston take pictures of all the
Encon life stations for the Community Appearance Board to
review, as the landscaping is not sufficient. Chairwoman Cook
also suggested doing some replanting of pine trees at Tequesta
Park. Boardmember Maitland felt the Board should involve the
Garden Club with the various planting projects of the Village.
VII. COMMUNICATIONS FROM CITIZENS
There were none.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting
was adjourned at 11:40 A.M.
