Bradford, Village Manager � DATE: October 7, 1993 SUBJECT Resolution Supportinq Florida Atlantic University Campus on Donald Ross Road; Aqenda Item The Village recently received the attached correspondence from the Town of Jupiter. The Jupiter Town Council adopted the attached Resolution urging the Village of Tequesta, among others, to adopt a similar resolution. Resolution No. 2-93/94 expresses Village Council support for the development of a proposed Northern Palm Beach County Campus of Florida Atlantic University in the area north of Donald Ross Road and west of Military Trail. This is the area being proposed for the Braves Stadium, FAU Campus and other developments by George DiGuardiola. Having an FAU Campus in North Palm Beach County is very desirable. I see no negative im�acts by virtue of locating the Campus at the Donald Ross Road site. Therefore, it is recommended that the Village Council adopt this Resolution expressing support for the same, as requested by the Town of Jupiter. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE JUPITER TOWN COUNCIL, MEETING IN REGULAR SESSION, AS FOLLOWS: ection 1. The Town of Jupiter endorses the development of a permanent North Palm Beach County Florida Atlantic University campus upon the MacArthur Foundation property that lies notth of Donald Ross Road and west of Military Trail as a proper and suitable location for the said North County campus. ection 2. The Jupiter Town Council strongly urges the Governor and Cabinet, the Florida Legislature, the Board of Regents of the State University System, and Florida Atlantic University to cooperatively plan for the development of a ne�v Florida Atlantic University campus in an area north of Dona(d Ross Road and west of Military Trail. Seetion 3. The Jupiter Town Council urges the Palm Beach Counry Legislative Delegation to actively support and work cooperatively to locate a ne�v Florida Atlantic University campus within the Town of Jupiter. � Section 4. The Jupiter Town Council urges the governing bodies of Palm Beach County, the Village of T'equesta, the Jupiter Inlet Colony, the Town of Juno Beach, and the City of Palm Beach Gardens to adopt similar resolutions supporting the location of the new university campus upon the subject property and within the Town of Jupiter. ti n 5.
