Dean LaValle was in attendance in representation of the above- referenced case. Mr. LaValle explained that a brick color has been chosen to paint over the existinq brick (the same Georgian Brick color as presently exists on Chili's in Jupiter) and the manson stone around the top, both of which are presently painted white. All the trim work on the buildinq will be a dark green. The siqn logo will be red/yellow/white. The current white Levolor blinds will be changed to two-inch oak-type wood tone slats. Boardmember Dalack felt the Georgian Brick color was a bit dark and unattractive, and that perhaps a more terra cotta color would be more fittinq. Vice Chairman Strahan concurred that the dark color chosen for the brick would qive a drab appearance, and felt that the sample presently painted on the wall of the building looks even darker than the sample that was being presented to the Community Apgearance Board. Mr. LaValle explained that the intent was to qive the brick a 'brick-like' appearance, and all other paints gave the brick more of a red color, which was not desirable, and that the color chosen was the lightest of all available. Vice Chairman Strahan sugqested the applicant try another sample patch in a liqhter color. The Board suggested that the yellow from the sign be used for the trim of the buildinq now planned to be qreen. Mr. LaValle asked that they be allowed to continue on with their basic plan and change after the fact if it is found to be unacceptable. The level of the driveway at the present drive-through will be raised tQ the level of the entrance, excludinq the wheel chair ramp. There will also be placed there a protective wall with a planter. • r Community !►ppearance eoard Meatinq xinuts Septembor S, 1993 Paqe 3 -------------------------- Landscapinc: Mr. LaValle explained that the landscape proposal is basically that which was submitted for the Jewish Mother Restaurant,. but with more trees added, as well as a planter along the side of the building. Ae explained that the sprinkler system is rather elaborate, but has just never been used. The previous owners evidently did not want to spend the money to run the PVC piping. The present Ficus hedge will come out, and new sod will go in. Twelve to fifteen foot Queen Palms will go in at each corne= of the buildinq, low shrubs around the north and south entrances, all xeriscape compatible. The parking plan will remain the same but the pavement will be cut to put in a raised curb. Boardmember Coben moved to approve the application as submitted aith the understaadinq that the applicant vill paint the brick no darker than the Georqian Brick color presented as s sample, and possibly liqhter, Nith the option to add a pe11oM accent tor trim as used in the siqn. Boardmember Dalack seconded the motion. The vote on the motion was: Paul Coben - for . Claudette Dalaak - tor vic strahan - !or The motion Mas therefore passed and adopted. p.
