Bradford, Village Manager ,/ DATE: November 22, 1993 SUBJECT: Liqhthouse Gallery Request for Grant; Aqenda Item Attached hereto, please find correspondence from the President of Lighthouse Gallery, Sue Ellen Mosler, requesting a Tequesta grant in the amount of $5000 for FY 93/94. At your meeting on November 18, I forecast that such a request would be forthcoming. For virtually all of the reasons given for supporting BRITT, except for perhaps the promotion of Tequesta, the Lighthouse Gallery should, likewise, be supported. _ ' BRITT and the Lighthouse Gallery are the only two cultural organizations that I will recommend the Council support. These are the only two cultural organizatiions based within Tequesta proper. Any other requests will, in all likelihood, be recommended for denial. It is recommended that the Village Council approve a$5000 grant to the Lighthouse Gallery and School of Art for FY 1993-94, with funding for the same to be made by the Water Enterprise Fund and a necessary budgetary amendment to be made in the near future. These , however , are r.ot sufficier.t to meet our needs. Tnerefore, it is necessary to appea] to other sources for supplementary assistar.ce. it is for this reason that i am initiating this recuest to the Council to aoprove a$5,000 grant for the LigFthouse Gallery and School of Art.
