Bradford, Village Manager DATE: January 6, 1994 SUBJECT: Enqineerinq Design Contract for Tequesta Park Improvements; Aqenda Item The 1994 Bond Issue entails improvements to Tequesta Park. The Tequesta Park improvements contemplated are paving, lighting and landscaping of the existing parking lot, upgrading and modernizing the playground area, upgrading all of the existing ballfields and lighting the basketball court. The estimated cost is $295,000, of which $25,000 has been allocated for engineering design. Gee & Jenson has proposed to design these improvements for $26, 810. This amount includes design and bid document preparation. Although the fee is 7.3 higher than we had anticipated, we have added the lighting of the basketball courts and this cost includes necessary geotechnical and topographical surveys which we had not included. All in all, we think the design fee is acceptable for this type of work. It is recommended the Village Council approve this Contract, authorizing the Village Manager to execute the same on behalf of the Village, which will allow said work to be designed prior to Bond issuance.
